Smiles, Beliefs and Convents
Smiles:
.
On August 31st before I entered my second last year of primary school I fell of my bike. I broke my front tooth in half. Since then I've had the filling half re-done over 3 times. But my dentist was horrible and left a big line on it. The last time I'd it replaced was over three years ago. Since the first time I got the other half built up the dentist has never smoothed it out - so I've always had this big line caused by a difference in thickness between the natural tooth and the filling bit.
.
Due to the way they dealt with that front tooth and pretty much everything else I decided to switch dentists to my dad's.
.
My first appointment was this morning. 8:30. I walked out of there at ten to nine (after spending 5 minutes arranging another appointment) and the line had gone. Ok, getting it off was hell - hell to me is a dentist chair - and I am the worst dentist patient ever - I yelp, shake, never have my mouth open enough etc. The new dentist is fantastic and the thing that has plagued my self-confidence for years and years is gone - I can smile without my lips closed again!
.
I'm just really annoyed I didn't switch dentists sooner – and worried the tooth is going to fall out at any minute!! I’ve to go back for a deep filling though. That’ll be real fun…

So, not much of a difference – the top two are the same, just switched. And conservative Christianity has made a bit of a jump up the table. It would be interested to see what you guys (those of you whose results I have yet to see) get – get answering those questions!

The last one was shown tonight there. It was a really good series. Challenging and interesting – to see how those four women got on with their spiritual journey with the nuns. From Victoria, an atheist with an “open marriage”, to Iona, a Christian and entered the convent considering celibacy, all the women highlighted different aspects of faith and daily life – with it’s struggles and pain.
.
It was a refreshing series. Although some of the points made – such as one of the nuns commenting it was your conscience that got you into heaven – didn’t quite sit right with me, I feel I’ve gained from just watching it. It was really interesting to observe the nuns’ lives as they went about their daily business etc.
