Another Update!
Just to say I love the surrealness of studying philosophy. We're currently doing religious language and how we can talk about something (God) that is beyond our expereince. Swinburne criticises the Falsification Principle by telling a little story...

Here's the bit of my essay:

Swinburne criticises the Falsification Principle arguing that many statements “which some people judge to be factual… [and] are not apparently confirmable of disconfirmable through observation” can still have meaning. He uses the example of toys in a cupboard “which to all appearances stay in the cupboard while people are asleep and no one is watching actually get up and dance in the middle of the night and then go back into the cupboard, leaving no trace of their activity…”. The idea that toys come out at night and dance is not falsifiable, but the meaning behind it can be understood.

I love the way they can be talking about something really serious and then inject a cartoon idea into it...

Anyway, really good news today: my gold duke of ed book is no longer lost! My GB captain had it! I am so so happy - I was so worried!! Now go and read the post below!
